The Opening System of knives

Opening pressure with one hand is a breeze for me, thanks to the two thumb-studs. I have seen knives with better studs; some were simply larger, some had checkering to increase friction. Some people like studs and some like holes. You have to get used to each one.

Sharpening Angles for Knives

Different knives require different sharpening angles. For a pocket knife, shoot for a 10 to 15 degree angle. Different knives have different specialties to offer, and the customer can choose according to his preferences and needs. Gerber Rescue Kit with a yellow handle has a "no stab" bead-blasted blade with serrations that can cut seat belts. Different types of steel require different heating and freezing processes in order to achieve the characteristics sought after for that individual piece. He began by making custom knives in the 1950s, and has been with Buck since.

Knife Steel Talk

Stainless will rust, but less and at a slower rate than steel with lower chromium content. There are many more additives that affect the properties of knife steel. Stainless is lot's easier to care for but I think carbon takes and holds a better edge. The knife I got was tested against a "Randall" and using a 4" hemp rope, left the "Randall"in the dust.

Multi Use Knife With LED Lite

Cut up some fruit, and meat. The blade is still shaving sharp. Cutting Edge has the large hunting knives, but that's not what I'm after. My last resort will be to go get it to Qubec City after Christmas (I won't have time to go beforehand, as we will be arriving there on Christmas eve). Cuts great and has a small led flashlight for helping you see in the dark. This handy tool also has a signal whistle for emergency situations that required this handy knife in the first place.

Tactical Knives

Tactical knives are primarily tools used for common, everyday cutting and prying tasks. Often the tactical folding knife is called into duty for emergencies as well, such as cutting rope or seat belts quickly to free someone or yourself when trapped as well as self defense in more uncommon scenarios. Tactical pens have become the new hot product in the concealed carry market. While some may question the need for a "tactical" pen, I can see the appeal.

The Spyderco Folding Knives have a blade that feels secure all the time, even when I had to exert significant force when making a cut. Blades should also lock automatically on being opened. If a separate step is required to engage the lock, the step can be accidentally skipped. Blades are forged by heating a single piece of steel and shaping the metal while it is hot with a hammer or press.

The Usefullness of a Folding Knife

The Spyderco Folding Knives come in very handy when out hunting, camping or exploring nature and are also very useful around the home and in the yard. It is a waste of money to buy a cheap knife only to find later that the blade either came loose or broke off completely. Knives in the pocket and waistband and the like, I have no faith in getting to when the shit hits the fan. Not saying it can't happen. Knives are sharpened in various ways. Flat ground blades have a profile that tapers from the thick spine to the sharp edge in a straight or convex line.
